The Association for Pathology Informatics (API) and Sunquest Information Systems are continuing as sponsors of a third season of free webinars devoted to pathology informatics. The next lecture in this series is entitled Clinical Informatics Fellowships and its Impact on Opportunities for Pathology Informatics. The lecture will be delivered by Dr. Bruce Levy, Associate Professor of Clinical Pathology and Director of Clinical Informatics Fellowships, at the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center. The date and time of this free event is Tuesday, January 26, at 1 PM – 2 PM ET. Register today to ensure a spot for this presentation. For pathologists interested in a career in pathology informatics, an increasingly important way to launch one is through a pathology informatics or clinical informatics fellowship such as the one offered at UIC Medical Center under the direction of Dr. Levy. These opportunities will be discussed in detail by him in this lecture.
On-line registration is also now available for the Pathology Informatics Summit 2016 that will be held on May 23-26, 2016, in Pittsburgh. This is the only conference of its kind in the U.S. devoted solely to the field of pathology informatics. The program will consist of two parallel tracks on clinical and anatomic pathology, the latter to include digital pathology. Also included are three workshops, short abstract presentations, and posters. A large vendor display ballroom featuring key products wil be available to registrants. The deadline for abstract submission is March 6, 2016. The PI Summit will be of great interest to both pathology informatics trainees as well as pathologists working in the field.
