14th Annual APIII Pathology Informatics Conference; September 20-23 in Pittsburgh

It's not too late to register for the 14th annual APIII pathology informatics conference that will be held on September 20-23, 2009, in Pittsburgh. The conference brochure is available on-line as a PDF file. Take a look at it -- this event is one of the major highlights of the year in the field and should not be missed by anyone with even a passing interest in lab computing. You can register on-line, by fax, or my mail. The conference was originally scheduled to run through Thursday, September 24, but the program was slightly truncated because of a conflict with the G20 meeting that will begin on that Thursday in Pittsburgh. Here is the G20 announcement copied directly from the APIII home page:

We were recently informed that Pittsburgh will begin hosting the G20 Summit on the last day of APIII.....With the expectation that the city may become very congested and busy, we have decided to merge Thursday’s ½ day program with programs on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (Sept 20 — 23). This will allow our attendees the opportunity to leave after the program adjourns on Wednesday, September 23 (4:30 pm)....

The Lab InfoTech Summit, after a recent five-year sojourn in Las Vegas and 21 previous years in Ann Arbor as the AIMCL conference, will merge with APIII in 2010. This new mega conference with a unique focus on pathology informatics will be held on 12-17 September, 2010, at the Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston. It will also incorporate the Second World Congress on Pathology Informatics as a third track. Participation in this year's APIII will provide a fitting introduction and launching pad for next year's expanded event.
